What Is Google Page Rank And How Does It Work?

Google Page Rank was developed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin (Google Founders). Google Page Rank is one of the many factors in determining your search engine rankings in Google.

In Brief, Page Rank is calculated by total number of incoming links to your website and their page rank and link popularity.

Page Rank is rated on a scale 0 to 10. Google.com is a 10, CNN.com is a 9 while new site or Black Listed site (Sites Punished by Google) is 0.

To learn more about Page Rank, you need to download the Google Toolbar and start viewing Page ranks of all the websites you visit.

Page Rank alone does not determine the strength of a website in the search engine results, however it provides an overall picture of where a website stands when compared to other websites.

To download and install the Google Toolbar click on the link below:

http://toolbar.google.com/Once you install it, go to Options-More tab-Enable Page Rank. Close your browser and open it again. The page rank will be indicated in a small tiny bar from white to green in the middle of the toolbar. Full Green is a PR10. Full white is PR0.
